Abstract

During the secondary school years students tend to reduce their physical activity and they modify their eating habits in a negative way. The objectives of this study are to identify the most relevant health problems for the education in the fields of nutrition and physical activity, and the competencies needed to solve these problems. A literature review and a consultation to experts through a Delphi study and a meeting with experts were carried out in order to address these goals. This allows to agree among different professional sectors a list of problems and competence contents, considered necessary and dispensable. The results of this study could help to improve nutrition education at the school and to rethink the curriculum of science from a perspective that integrates the teaching of both areas, nutrition education and physical education.
