The Action Competence with Socio-Ecological Consciousness and Science Centers
Abstract
Science centers have become references for schools that seek real-world contexts and promote Education for Sustainable Development from a competence perspective. This study analyzes the contribution of a science center to the development of the action competence with socio-ecological Consciousness in primary school students (aged 10-11), after participating in one of its activities, based on the analysis of arguments in response to an open-ended question. The research compares the results over two school years, after pedagogically modifying the activity in the second year to increase the development of this competence. It is confirmed that with these changes, students increase their action competence with socio-ecological Consciousness, incorporating knowledge and confidence in their ability to influence and act.
