Green Chemistry and Sustainability in Science Education in Secundary Schools

Abstract

This paper proposes to study the role of Green Chemistry in Science Education, to contribute with Sustainability Science and therefore the transition to sustainable societies. For this purpose it will show the results of the analysis carried out about the teaching and the research attention to the contributions of Green Chemistry and the possibility to incorporate it in the formation of the citizenship and the adoption of measures to build a sustainable future. The aim of this investigation is to respond to numerous experts and global institutions calls for education, all education including Chemistry Education, paying attention to the problems and challenges facing humanity, contributing to find solutions and training of responsible and prepared for decision-making citizenship.
