Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for studying the learning gained by 12-13 years old stu¬dents after the implementation of a teaching proposal of the Matter Corpuscular Model (MCM). The theoretical framework poses the distinction between the learning of scientific competencies and the learning of scientific content and we associate the former with a change in the student’s explanatory scheme levels, while the latter is associated with a change in the overall achievement. The statistical analysis of the data was performed using the 20.0 SPSS multivariate method. The results suggest that the learning of scientific competencies results more difficult than that of scientific content
