Abstract

This study is based on the framework of the PISA 2006 (OECD, 2008) evidence, scientific competence. In this thesis investigated the extent to which a sample of students from the degree of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Argentina) acquire and / or develop such competition during the first three years of university level (basic cycle). Monitoring of the results was performed during the three years of research. The scope and changes in levels of total return by expertise (RTCC) and three scientific subcompetences constituting the RTCC (identifying scientific issues, ICC; explain scientific phenomena, EFC, and using scientific evidence, UPC)
