Abstract

In this article the function and goals of Science Education Research journals are analyzed on the basis of the evolution of Enseñanza de las Ciencias, published in Spain since 1983. There are also explanations about its present challenges and different views on the definition of this area and, very specially, the challenge of connecting, in one hand, the theoretical knowledge reflected in this area’s journals and, in de other hand, the practical knowledge.
