Abstract

The traditional education paradigm, which pratically ignores alternative pupil ideas and concepts, has been overcome by the great attention given to those ideas and concepts by researchers. In the last 35 years, the observation of the pupil alternative ideas and concepts about Physics theory has become a very important topic of discussion among constructivist educators who want to improve their work. Such observation shows the difference between the current scientific knowledge and the spontaneous pupil thought, pointing out failures in the traditional method of learning. In this work we analyse alternative ideas and concepts of a very particular kind of student -the blind- and relate their thinking to Aristotelican Physics and Physics of Impetus, in order to help teachers to improve the Physics teaching for blind people.
