Redefine and rethink the history of alchemy: Marie Meurdrac

Abstract

Last works in history of science allows redefine and rethink the history of alchemy in the early modern Europe. Alchemy now holds an important place in the history of science. Since sixteen century it engaged people of different social and economic area, artisans, princess, shepherds and scholars, men and women. At his work, many practitioners share the tendency to read, write, make and do at the same time. Likewise they employed experiment in the laboratory in a systematic way. The new contributions to the history of science place books and works in a theoretical framework that could be interesting in learning science, construct chemical knowledge and motivate students.
