Abstract

Dificulties and lack of skills to recognize, describe and solve math problems in real contexts have been recently detected on secondary students by international educational researchs. In this article we present an innovative instructional proposal to teach lineal equations in context, involving the economic Laws of Supply and Demand, and Point of Equilibrium between prices and quantities. Secondary students’ achievements during the development of this instructional proposal led us to consider the importance and interest to teach math in real contexts, and to argue on the actual meaning of a math didactic situations.
