Abstract

A new method and its empirical application for the evaluation of the attitudes related to science, technology and society are applied to a pool of items. The assessment methodology creates a new form of answering the items, a new metric to score attitudes and a categorization of the items to apply the metric. The advantages for science education research and educational diagnostic of the attitudes within the science classroom are the invariance of the method, the use of the whole information in the items, and the application for statistical inferences.
