A didactic proposal to work on the numerical sequence in the second cycle of preschool education
Abstract
This paper presents a didactic proposal to work the numerical sequence in the second cycle of preschool education attending to the «following of» relationship that exists among its terms. When designing the tasks, we take into account the mathematical logic schemes involved in the operation structure of serialization and in the action of counting, under the perspective of ordinal logical relationships.
The purpose is that the schoolchild learns a systematic method of reproducing the numerical sequence that is based on the understanding that the first range of numbers. from 1 to 10, it is a cycle from which the entire series of natural numbers is generated, with a combination rule (double serialization). To accomplish this systematic method, we present a teaching proposal that includes activities to know which is the «following of» a number in any ten considering as a reference what is happening in the cycle, to achieve a rhythmic and linguistic learning of the numerical sequence by doing typical groups of series generation, to work the ordinal tens and to finalize the whole process of systematization with mental calculation.
