Logical relations diagrams in transformation tasks for preschoolers

Abstract

We construct symbolic diagrams that represent logic relations that preschool children from 3 to 5 years old use when they solve a transformation task that is being presented through a symbolic code in two different ways: as an application to the code and as a discovery of the code.The diagrams in the paper allow us to explain the results from an experience with 211 preschool children.
